Who is my miserable co-worker?
My miserable co-worker sits in front of me for between 11 and 12 hours a day consulting for a prestigious law firm in NYC. She is a 30 year old woman who was raised in West Virginia and has lived in Washington D.C., New Jersey, Maryland and currently, the borough of Queens. My miserable co-worker suffers from a rare stomach disorder. She has claimed to have done acid more than 20 times and her mother has been institutionalized. She graduated from a first tier law school in New York City. Her boyfriend of seven years left her after she passed the bar, purportedly because he felt threatened by her career. She is currently dating a once divorced 27 year old orthodox jewish man who she met on Craigslist. She is currently thinking about converting. She listens to music exclusively from the industrial/rave scene circa 1996 and Daughtry from American Idol.
She spends the majority of her day oscillating between Cnn.com, msnbc.com and curb.com but refuses to read the New York Times. This is her story.
